Casa Hotel is an independently owned t 4-star hotel.  The hotel offers an outstanding dining experience in our 2-rosette award winning Cocina Restaurant and our authentically Spanish Barca Bar.  We use the finest cuts of meat and produce which arrive directly from the owner’s farm on the outskirts of Chesterfield.  Our beautiful sister hotel, The Peak Edge Hotel is based on the outskirts of Chesterfield towards Matlock and is right on the edge of the Peak District National Park.

Who we are looking for: –

If you are an experienced, enthusiastic, vibrant team player who thrives on the buzz of a bustling kitchen that has a family feel then Casa is the place for you.

We need someone who is keen to take responsibility for ensuring the delivery of high standards of cuisine within our 2-rosette restaurant delivering private dining and weddings to ultimately create fantastic memories for our guests.

As Chef de Partie you will work in our Cocina restaurant, Barca Bar and on conference and banqueting events. You will be confident working on all sections in the kitchen whilst also assisting with the supervision of the CDPs and Commis Chefs.

Your duties and responsibilities: – 

  • Ensure all food preparation meets our high standards
  • Prepare and present high-quality food
  • Keep all working areas clean and tidy and ensure no cross contamination
  • Prepare all mis-en-place for all relevant menus
  • Assist in positive outcomes from guests queries in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensure food and produce is of a great quality and stored correctly
  • Contribute to controlling costs, improving gross profit margins and other departmental and financial targets
  • Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships
  • Report maintenance, hygiene and hazard issues
  • Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety and food safety legislation
  • Be environmentally aware

Our Key Requirements: – 

We are looking for an experienced Chef de Partie with plenty of experience working in hotel kitchens who is looking to progress their career into a Senior Chef de Partie position.

Knowledge of conference and banqueting up to 150 is preferable but not essential.

  • A minimum of 2 years of previous experience
  • Ability and desire to work as part of a close team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • NVQ Level 3 preferred but not essential
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Supervisory experience
  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work on your own initiative or in teams

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Previous kitchen experience in similar role
  • Intermediate Food Hygiene
  • Knowledge of current food trends

We are seeking a highly motivated Sous Chef to join a strong and dynamic team at our award-winning 100-bedroom, four-star hotel with busy meetings and events facilities, plus our highly regarded 2 AA Rosette restaurant Cocina.

We are proud to cook with locally sourced lamb, beef, pork and eggs from the hotel owners’ private farm on the outskirts of Chesterfield.

Your key areas of responsibility would be our Barca Bar, Cocina Restaurant and conference and banqueting. You will be given the freedom to create dishes to be served in all areas of the hotel and if suitable they will be included on the menus.

It is vital that you are friendly, approachable, and a real team player whilst also being a strong leader who can be relied upon to be professional and organised. You would be assisting in the management of the kitchen department looking after the main hotel kitchen efficiently, and ideally would be experienced in banqueting for large events. A strong work ethic is vital.

The Role 

  • To ensure that food preparation and quality is of the highest standard possible within the limits of budgeted profit targets with a view to maximising sales to guests and ensuring staff welfare.
  • Responsible for stock control; ensuring that stock levels are in line with Company requirements and to control food stocks each month in co-operation with Executive Chef.
  • Liaise with the Conference & Banqueting and Sales on menus.
  • To personally prepare special dishes as required.
  • To ensure that due diligence documentation, rotas and other working papers are efficiently completed within company guidelines
  • Fully aware of all requirements of health and safety in the kitchen
  • To put ideas forward and ensure a high standard across all food sectors within the kitchen.
  • Able to operate all sections of the kitchen
  • Menu planning and design
  • Rota management

We have a great opportunity to join our accounts team here at Casa Hotel on a temporary maternity cover basis as an Accounts Assistant. Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous but we are also happy to train and develop an enthusiastic and bright candidate. There may be an opportunity for the role to become permanent.
The role will cover accounting for various areas of our portfolio including the hotel, property rental, motorsport, farming and service charges.
The main duties of the role are:
• Produce monthly management accounts
• Vat returns

• Intercompany transactions

• Prepare information for audit team
• Adhoc project work

Previous knowledge of the following systems would be advantageous:
• Sage accounting system

Personal attributes and experience:
• Excellent communication skills
• Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment
• Excellent excel skills and knowledge of VLOOKUP, pivot tables etc.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full-time (temporary) Reservations Co-ordinator with an immediate start training for maternity cover with a view to a potential permanent role within the business at contract completion for the right candidate.

The right candidate will play an active part in contributing towards the growth of not just our bedroom business, but also group bookings and private events. You will be responsible for increasing occupancy, accommodation and revenue by effectively converting enquiries into confirmed bookings and upselling wherever possible.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of rate management with reservations experience within the hotel industry, it is essential that you are driven with a positive approach.  As well as effective communication and excellent customer service skills, you will also need to demonstrate administrative, organisational and time management skills and be able to work weekends and evenings as required.

Essential qualities, skills and knowledge:

  • Demonstrate enthusiasm for revenue and reservations within a hotel environment
  • Possess an operational understanding of a hotel
  • Have the foresight to spot trends and patterns

  • Great attention to detail as you will be dealing with many different rates and packages
  • Must show a passion for great customer service and drive the Casa 4* standards
  • Previous experience within a revenue and reservations role essential
  • The ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and generate initial links with new customers
  • Strong knowledge of Excel required
  • Experience of handling telephone and email reservations and dealing with customer enquiries in a pleasant and professional manner
  • Must be able to act quickly and effectively to assist guests with queries
  • Ability to demonstrate great team work mentality
  • Sales focused with enthusiasm and drive to develop new opportunities to increase inbound revenue
  • Understanding of rate strategies and implementation
  • Ability to review and present sales figures to senior management
  • Contract preparation with an eye for detail
  • Knowledge of Opera PMS and Sales & Catering
  • Flexible and methodical approach to all tasks
  • Must be self-motivated and well organised as well as being solution and idea driven
